Ambassador Program Summary

As a part of the Voices of Autism Group, the Pacific Autism Family Network supports a team of Ambassadors, a group of self-identified advocates on the autism spectrum that enjoy speaking on various topics related to Autism. Ambassadors will be invited to participate in media and speaking opportunities to provide perspective and insight from an individual viewpoint. Events may include things like:

  • PAFN Promotional Videos
  • News media interviews/articles
  • Podcasts
  • Conferences and educational events
  • Sensitivity Training

The Ambassador role is a volunteer opportunity. When opportunities arise, the VOA Program Manager will connect with the Ambassador network to select a speaker and coordinate the details of the event.

Who can be an Ambassador?

Ambassadors are a group of self-identified advocates on the autism spectrum that enjoy speaking on various topics related to Autism. They will be members of the Voices of Autism group and vetted by the VOA Program Manager. Ambassadors are intended to provide a personal perspective. While Ambassadors are not employees of PAFN and do not provide an official viewpoint or opinion of the organization, their comments will reflect on the organization and should try to remain positive and refrain from speaking poorly about any specific individual or organization.

How do you become an Ambassador?

Individuals interested in becoming an Ambassador, will apply through the VOA Program Manager, SF Walker. Ambassador candidates will be asked to complete an initial application, participate in an interview and introductory speaking opportunity. All Ambassadors will be invited to make a profile video sharing a bit about themselves and topics they enjoy speaking about.
